Craving American style NY pizza? If you don't already know about Brick Oven NY Pizzeria in Gangnam, you are missing out! The flour and tomato sauce used is the same recipe as in renown places in NYC, and the thin crust comes out of the oven perfectly crispy every time! I crave different style of pizzas in Seoul, so it's nice that so many great pizza joints are now in town!

After opening their first location up in Gangnam 2.5 years ago, Brick Oven NY Pizzeria (BONY) is soon opening up their second location in the new food court at Famille Station in Central City. Click the picture below to see the new food court or HERE

Anticipating the new 2nd location of BONY opening up soon (mid January) at the Central City (at Express Bus Terminal Station), Banpo, Gangnam. Other international food joints like Cirilo, Crystal Jade, Gelati Gelati are already here too!

Garlic Romano Fries: "BONY's Special French Fries." 5500won

I love fries and I love the fries here. I much prefer the medium thick cut ones like these, and I love seasoned fries. The garlic and parmesan on these were so flavourful and you can't go wrong with ranch dipping sauce. If you like garlic and cheese, and don't like spicy food, go with this one.

Ditto on the love of these fries too. We couldn't decide which ones to order and I'm so glad we got both. The thickness, the seasoning, the spices - all excellent. They came out piping hot too so that's always good. These have a bit of a kick to it so if you can't eat spicy, then get the other one. Otherwise, both are great choices.

I was a bit disappointed with these wings. They were TINY! I hear that wing sizes in Korea depend on the shipment, but there were too small, and the sauce was too vinegary and spicy without for a buffalo wing. I love buffalo wings but I will stick to the fries and pizza at this place.

I did a wing comparison blog in search of the best wings in Seoul. Check out my edition of Best Chicken Wings in Seoul HERE!

Carbonara Chicken: "Roast chicken breast, bacon, Romano cheese, white wine, cream sauce, fettuccini." 15 500won.

American Italian style pasta. Very creamy and cheesy Alfredo like sauce. It was tasty, but too heavy to eat a whole dish of this one your own. Was generous with the pieces of chicken breast in it. Good to share.

If you are craving some authentic Italian home-style cooked pasta with all ingredients made from scratch at amazing prices, check out Il Gattino HERE!

Margherita Caprese: "Fresh mozzarella, basil, ECOO, signature alta cucino tomato sauce." Couple size (2-3): 27 500won, Party (4-5): 41 000won.

This is my favourite pizza here. I usually love a variety of toppings, but something about the simple slice of a great crust, tangy tomato sauce and gooey mozzarella with basil is perfect! Along with the crust, the basil makes the dish and I like how it's scattered about rather than just one piece here and there.

I don't know why people are always comparing between places like here and Italian style pizza like AL MATTO. It's just a different style of pizza altogether! I like both, they are just different!

Italian style pizza is thin too, but has a more chewy/softer crust which is why they serve it whole in Europe with a fork and knife and put on chilli oil. American pizza, the crust is a bit more firm, and you eat it with your hands and put on dry chilli flakes!

The bottom of the crust is nicely bubbled which shows how quickly it cooked at a high temperature. I normally leave crusts behind, but these are so crispy, I ate them all up!

I love Hawaiian pizza but I don't love BBQ sauce. This was still good, but I prefer original Hawaiian with ham and pineapples.

Half & Half Pizzas

I love half and half options! You can enjoy more flavours and taste different varieties! Add 3000won more to the Couple size, and 5000won more to the Party size of which ever pizza is more expensive.

However, if you get certain kinds where the sauce is the same and ingredients are easy to add, they just charge for the more expensive pizza but don't charge extra for the half and half. For example, they don't charge extra for the Margherita together with the Pepperoni or the New York Classic. There are more combinations where they charge or not, so just ask them! All the servers speak some sort of English!

Half Margherita Caprese and Half Vegetarian: "Bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, black olives, tomatoes, garlic, mozzarella and pizza sauce."

The Margherita was excellent as always. I thought the Vegetarian had a few too many toppings, so the crust on it actually got a bit soggy and it was too much.

Half Margherita Caprese and Half Hawaiian: "Smoked ham & bacon, pineapples, mozzarella, pizza sauce."

My favourite pizza combination. Love both of these here and this is what I would order again and again (with some fries). You can take any leftover pizza in a take away box, so feel free to over order and enjoy some pizza for breakfast! Pop it in the toaster oven  for a few minutes and it's good to go!

Sorry for the slightly blurry menu pictures. Click to zoom. I saw some pictures of the garlic knots and would love to try those next time as well!
